40 weeks!

Here are John and I at Chino Bandido's after church today.  I really didn't think I would make it to 40 weeks! Everybody thought I would go early cause of my silly uterus but here I am still ticking.

Here are a list of things I tried (unsuccessfully) to get little baby Campbell to come out and play:

1.  LOTS of walking (1-2 times a day for the last week)
2.  Spicy food... thai hot.  I was sweating like a pig  glistening and downing loads of water.
3.  Bouncing on an exercise ball
4.  Testing out Murphy's law... I made lots of plans hoping I would have to cancel them, but no I didn't!
5.   ;)  wink wink
6.  Acupressure points
7.  Eating pineapple
8.  Eating rhubarb
9.  Evening primrose oil
10.  Having my membranes stripped
11.  Lots and lots of prayer

A list of things I have yet to try....

1.  Acupuncture
2.  Good 'ole castor oil
3.  Using a breast pump
4.  Finishing my 'to-do' list

I might give a few of these things a try later this week.  I really don't want to get induced because it increases your risk of c-section.  I also want to labor without an epidural and I know pitocin makes labor more painful.

Anybody know of anymore things that worked for them or people they know?

38.5 weeks pics

Yesterday's stats at OB/GYN appointment...
  •  1.5 cm dilated (had only been 1/2 cm the prior 3 appts)
  • 60% effaced (don't know what I was before cause this is the first time I asked)
  • Approximate weight gain: 23 lbs.
Last night I honestly thought there was a good chance I would be in labor today because I was having some contractions and just some new feelings down there but I went to sleep and woke up today fine.  Only 2 more days till my cousin Megan gets here so I'm trying to hold out till then.  I have a long walk planned for Saturday morning :)   I honestly don't mind going until my due date or even later but I just have a feeling that won't happen with some of the action I'm already experiencing.  Only God knows!

And here are few pics from today...

I've been doing some sewing projects the last few weeks after being totally enthralled with some of my homemade baby shower gifts from Megan and my friend Sherry.  I will try to post pictures of those before the baby comes.  I bought a few simple patterns for clothes too that I could use in Sierra Leone with the local fabric.
